AS WE ARE all too painfully aware, fuel is one of our biggest costs. It is also a diminishing resource. As we are led by the nose towards Euro-6, in the name of cleaner emissions, fuel eficiency decreases.
The result, therefore, must be that we use more of what is already getting scarce to do the same work – and if we are using more fuel, total emissions will not change. That may be too simplistic, but it seems that Euro-5 is quite far enough. Vernon Hill Owner driver, Norfolk
