Multi-truck franchisee Pelican Engineering, based in Wakefield, exhibited two new ranges of products on its stand at the CV Show.
The Italian Dulevo Sweeper range, says Pelican sales director Ken Grindrod, offers a range of mechanical sweepers that are dust-free, removing the issue of particulate matter (known as PM10 emissions, which measures specks of solid matter in liquid). These are becoming an issue for conventional vacuum sweepers, which use water to suck up debris.
The second franchise is the Croatian Rasco Winter Maintenance products. Fitted to a DAF LF55 4x2 tipper, which has a steel Thompson dropside body, is the Solid T5 salt spreader and Mosor PK snow plough (pictured left).
The demount systems can be fitted to regular tipper bodies, says Grindrod, and interest in the products has been from a variety of businesses such as distribution companies, councils, airports, and local contractors that work for the council during the winter.
Quick-release hydraulic couplings and electric sockets are fitted behind the cab.
