David Bagshaw, senior analyst at Transport Intelligence, says: “There was always going to be property consolidation because there would have been duplicate sites in many regions, and parcel carriers need to watch their cost base.
“However, if we are to expect mass job cuts, you can assume the volumes desired from the merger are not there in this economy.”
