TURNERS (SOHAM) has taken delivery of its 300th DAF CF FTP tractor unit. The vehicle, which will be used on bulk tanker operations, is speciied with Spacecab and AS-tronic automated gearbox, with power from DAF’s Euro-5 410hp 12.9-litre MX engine.
It comes itted with 17.5-inch wheels and tyres on the mid-lift axle for reduced weight. The tractor unit, which was bought through DAF dealer Marshall’s of Cambridge, has its own personalised plate – T300 FTP.
Franklin Turner, Turners (Soham) director, says the truck will cover more than 100,000km per year and Marshall’s will be responsible for service and maintenance during its three-year warranty.
“We’ve been using the DAF CF for a considerable time now and they have proven to be reliable, eficient and popular with our drivers,” he adds.
“Having a smaller lifting third axle gives us about 500kg extra payload, which gives us the advantage of maximising our leet eficiency without any compromise in vehicle performance.”
