• The second British Road Services management development course began in Birmingham on Monday. The course will last for six months and its content is designed to produce a young manager trained in modern management techniques.
BRS training officer Mr. J. Lakin has cast his net wide to obtain lecturers. He has drawn on GPO, BLMC, Colleges of technol ogy, universities, consultants. On March 17 the deputy editors of Commercial Motor and Motor Transport will, in one session, discuss the role of the trade Press in the transport industry.
The course members are Mr I. Bacon, Riddings branch: Mr. I. Clarke, Newington Butts: Mr. R. H. Chinney, Swindon; Mr. E. Conn, Bathgate: Mr. I. Fithian-Franks, Darlington; Mr. N. C Kennedy, Preston; Mr. C. S. Wardlow Carlisle; and Mr. R. Howell, South Eastern district. (Mr. Howell was formerly on the editorial staff of Commercial Motor).
