• Light goods vehicles weighing up to 3,500kg will ' come under the annual MoT testing scheme from 18 March.
Vehicles of between 3,001kg and 3,500kg will be tested in a new MoT class known as Class 7. The Vehicle Inspectorate will also offer a Class 7 MoT testing service at its HGV test stations for £18.
The Department of Transport is advising operators of vehicles which are due for a Class 7 test on 1 April to have the test done before then to avoid the rush.
