• Shanks & McEwan (Southern) has bought two Foden 4350 6x4 tractor units from Forden Commercials for its south-east England waste disposal contracts. They are fitted with 260kW Caterpillar engines and Hoynor 46m3 tipping trailers and their exhausts and air intakes have been mounted vertically to increase ground clearance. Both have Foden 4000 Series sleeper cabs with Bostrom suspension seats, heated mirrors, and twin air horns (see colour picture on contents page).
