• Mercedes-Benz's transport consultancy department will improve its transport management Fleet Information Service (FIS) next year with a range of business software programs which can be used with microcomputers.
The modular fleet programs, which should be available in late 1987, will produce wide variety of management information, and may also be developed to link-up with on-board vehicle data collection systems.
Daimler-Benz in Stuttgart is currently engaged in producing the computer programs which will be offered to operators for use on their own microcomputers. MB(UK) will only offer th programs, but will advise hauliers on suitable compute systems.
The MB(UK) transport a sultancy department is talkir with Hewlett-Packard — the computer manufacturer — which may supply micro equ ment, although no deal has been struck.
