• Brian France has been made director of finance of the National Bus Company. He takes over from Harold Taylor who, with the impending privatisation of NBC, has relin. quished his appointment to become finance director of Eastern National.
Since July 1982 France has been group chief accountant fo NBC.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, he qualified in private practice before joining the bus industry in 1965 as assistant to the company secretary of Aldershot and District.
In 1968 he became company secretary of Yorkshire Traction, but subsequently left the industry for three years, returning to Alder Valley as company secretary in 1974.
Before moving to NBC head office, he was secretary and accountant of Bristol Omnibus for six years.
Another recent appointment at National Bus is that of David Martin as company secretary of Midland Fox based in Leicester.
Martin leads the company's new secretarial and accounting department.
