Is it not time that someng was done about an exisive evil that we all have endure at some time, and ne of us more often? I 'el" to the heavy plastic strip -tains that some factory nets and warehouse ..pers like to fit in their Jrways and then require us drive our expensive
hides through.
Bulk hauliers such as myself counter them more often as :y are used in an attempt to press dust. There are ,fly other ways to suppress st, some not as expensive fit as these curtains, and ich do not damage the vehicle. The last one I had to drive through cost roe a mirror, damaged the cab roof sign, and made the cab look as if it had been sandpapered. When I spoke to the traffic manager of the firm concerned, he said that he would not send one of his vehicles through, but I was expected to do so, or not be loaded.
if some crusading journal, such as yours, or some organisation dedicated to the protection of hauliers' interests, such as the Road Haulage Association, could do something positive to secure the disappearance of these costly nuisances, then I am sure they would earn many subscriptions and enquiries for membership. It would cer
tainly do more for hauliers than lobbying a deaf Secretary of State or Chancellor.
