• The Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners in a written decision have refused to grant any special services running to the Bingo Hall at Elland following applications made by Hebble Motor Services Ltd., J. H. Sheard Ltd. and Halifax Joint Omnibus Committee last month (CM February 281.
The first two operators applied for additional excursions from points in and around Halifax but the close network of stage services were adequate, considered the Commissioners. However attractive a tailormade service might be, it was not the overriding factor and passengers would obviously be abstracted which could eventually cause stage services to be curtailed to the detriment of the general public.
Halifax JOC's application for express ser vices from Hebden Bridge and Brighouse to Elland was made so the bingo organizers could recover some of the cost of hiring the present contract vehicles and this would abstract from stage services as well, the Commissioners felt.
