FROM the passenger viewpoint buses have many design faults. This is one conclusion of the London Transport Passengers Committee annual report for 1974.
It also states that many of London's rush hour travellers are tired out before they get to work because of overcrowded buses and tubes, Step heights on the London Country Bristol LHS, and the Van Hoot double-decker came in for criticism, as did the ventilation system of LT's Park Royal Daimler Fleetlines. Ease of boarding was seen as a good feature of the M etroScania and the A ilsa doubledeckers.
