• Failure to replace trailer brake pads in good time has serious consequences, both to safety and repair costs. BPW's new Brake Monitor provides early warning of pads reaching the end of their life. Comprising a sensor on each caliper and a display module mounted in a suitable location on the trailer, the system is powered by the tractor's electrics, displaying a flashing yellow LED when the pads reach 90% of their life.
When any brake pad reaches the 2mm wear limit a red warning indicator on the mender is mechanically ac tivated and stays visible until reset Suitable for trailers with up to three axles, as ornal equipment or retrofit, a complete kit for abiaxletr2iler costs about £300.
