A range of heavy-duty conveyor and elevator chains has been introduced by the Chain Division of the Ewart Chainbelt Co Ltd that have ultimate tensile strengths of 20,000lb to 140,000lb. While chains having greater strength are available, the range is said to cater for a high proportion of user requirements.
• The chains are of carbon and alloy steels with hardened precision-ground pins and bushes. Maximum running speeds under suitable conditions are ,up to 150ft per min for conveyors and up to 200ft per min for elevators.
