• A statement will be made soon about proposals for setting up a Passenger Transport Authority in the Glasgow area.
Dr. J. Dickson Mabon, Minister of State at the Scottish Office, who promised this in the Commons last week, said he had now completed consultations with all parties concerned in this question.
Mr. Gordon Campbell (Tory, Moray and Nairn) asked for a guarantee that the Minister would not try to impose a PTA against thc wishes of the local authority, and was told that no single local authority would have a veto over the question of a PTA.
Mr. Edward M. Taylor (Tory. Cathcart) was not satisfied with what Dr. Mahon had to say and announced that he is to try to get a short debate on the topic.
