Six adhesives—between them suitable for bonding virtually every plastics materials in common use—have been introduced by the 3M Company along with an adhesive selection chart.
The range comprises a Scotch-Grip rubber adhesive 880; Scotch-Grip vinyl adhesives 1099 and 2262: Scotch-Grip industrial adhesives 4475 and 4693; and ScotchWeld structural adhesive 3520 B All these are one-part solutions which are applied either by brush, flow-gun or spray-gun—with the exception of Scotch-Weld, a two-part structural adhesive 3520 B /A which is applied by spatula or trowel. Scotch-Grip industrial adhesive 4693 provides high bond strength to metals and many plastics including polyethylene and polypropylene.
