under licence. Rubber pads are inserted into the steel belt links. (Right) A Citroen-Kegresse grass mowing unit with two cutters at the front and a cutter followed by a roller behind.

One producer, known as the made by Delhaye and Mahieu, is exhibited on a Nash Quad.

Panhard and Levassor show their apparatus on one of their 'own inachinea, whilst a Renault set is to be found on a Renault agricultural tractor.

Quite a number of battery electric vehicles is now built. Several of those on view are hardy veterans of the recent electric vehicle trials, which took place in. the early days of this month. One noticeable difference is the disappearance of those vehicles fitted with supplementarymechanical gearboxes, and the return to proper electrical control.

Amongst those exhibited are Henry Crochat's six-tanner with single motor and double chain drive, a neat Berliet van built on the lines of a petrol vehicle, with the battery under the bonnet, and the Laporte machine fitted with Tudor accumulators. The design of this machine is somewhat unusual, as it has two motors at the rear pivoted on the rear axle and supported. by short laminated springs, the drive being taken from each motor to a rack gear in the wheels.

A platform truck with worm drive is shown by Ste. A.E,IL, who also exhibit a small three-wheeled electric locomotive _ and an electric van with a Renault type bonnet.

Readiess traction has not been neglected, and apart from the CitroanKegresse in various forms, there is a Peugeot which is actually built under licence from Roadies Traction, Ltd. This has metal tracks in lieu of the rear wheels, and these tracks have solid rubber inserts. The example shown has already run some 10,000 kilometres. The Citroen-Kegresse is becoming More and more refined in detail, as is shown by the bare chassis, which has an ordinary three-speed gearbox and a special casing at the rear enclosing a ciemultiplying gear, which gives six speeds in all, and a locking device for the differential. One of the most remarkable of the Citroari-diegresee exhibita is one of these vehicles equipped with lawn mowers, two of these being attached by special brackets to the front of the vehicle and one being towed behind, whilst still farther back is a hay roller. A special guard against grass is provided for the radiator.

The only horsebox in the Salon is a huge trailer type built by Lagache Glazmann. This machine carries four horses and has a tailboard ramp which is lowered by winch gear.

At this Salon the Peugeot" Co. have introduced a new model. The power unit of this is a four-cylindered monobloc with overhead valves and provided with cross drive to the magneto of one side, and an air pump at the other, whilst a centrifugal water pump is situated at one side of the timing cafe, and the dynamo at the Other, the water being cooled by a large radiator of the gilled tubular type. The chassis is of extremely simple and clean design. The four-speed gearbox i.e mounted as a unit with the engine, the drive being through a cardan shaft to an axle of the dual type, in which a separate member carries the load, and the drive is through rack and pinion.
