"Zenvironment" was the word on Yokohama's stand for its new range of environmentally friendly tyres that have been designed to cope with shape growth caused by long running.
The prototype 107ZL and 106ZS steer axle tyres were produced using a com pound mixed at a lower temperature to produce a harder casing that grows at a more uniform rate. Grooves at the tyre edge reduce ground pressure to give a more even wear in the shoulder areas, while the Stress-Wear Control Sipes limit abnormal wear on rib edges.
Stone ejectors protect the casing from penetration and the new 6-rib tread design boosts grip and helps improve wet traction.
