• London Transport is to introduce the bulk sale of tickets, linked to a "no change" policy, for 15 suburban flat-fare bus routes on Sunday, October 7.
Passengers will be able to buy from the bus driver a card of 12 tickets for 50p entitling them to make 13 journeys on any 4p flat-fare route. This gives a saving of 2p on the normal cost of thirteen 4p rides. Pre-paid tickets have already been available in the Ealing area on three services. The card and tickets are undated and transferable so that they can be used on any day and several passengers can share tickets on each card.
The GLC has agreed to the plan for multi-ride tickets and to endorsement of the withdrawal of change-giving on these routes.
