• Birmingham-based van maker LDV has won a three-year order worth £12m for 751 vehicles from the Ministry of Defence and has appointed two new distributors to relaunch its range into Europe. The company, formed two years ago following a management buyout from Dal, has increased its pre-tax profits to £3m for the first half of 1995, with turnover rising to £98m from £72m for the same period last year. The MoD order has led LDV to create 70 new jobs with production up to 350 vans a week-75% higher than in 1993.
