• Bridgend-based John Raymond Transport was given a stern warning over the maintenance of its vehicles when it appeared at a Cardiff disciplinary inquiry before South Wales Deputy Licensing Authority Roger Seymour.
The company holds a licence authorising the operation of 205 vehicles and 630 trailers. It was called before the DLA following the issue of 11 immediate and delayed prohibition notices, a number of which were endorsed as showing a significant maintenance failure.
Director Andrew Raymond said the company, which currently operates 189 vehicles and 600 trailers, had completely revamped its maintenance procedures, He was confident that there would not be any recurrence of the problems in the future.
