Make an early start on paperwork as it's easy to get into difficulties with summonses which are for dates two or three weeks ahead. The best-laid plans are spoiled as we get involved in a number of incidents in France. Later on I speak to a large number of clients for whom we are setting up a network of assistance in France. Dictate and send faxes confirming the arrangements to be made. The day ends in a race to transfer funds to French Post Offices to be collected by drivers to pay fines. That leaves several unhappy operators, but we try to avoid making rash promises to recover these fines until we have seen the charts.
