• Police are urging transport operators to join a national anti-theft campaign to safeguard their vehicles — for just £1.
Members of the scheme are issued with fluorescent stickers for the front and rear of their vehicles. This shows the vehicles will not be driven between midnight and 05:00hrs. If the police spot a marked vehicle on the road between these times it will automatically be stopped.
Police in Warwickshire, one county involved in the scheme, say the sticker campaign has been very successful in deterring car thefts. Several police forces are operating the sticker campaign. Contact your local police station to find out if it runs in your area.
