• Ravaglioli's Scottish importer, Autoparts Ecosse Garage Equipment, has installed a 45 tonne scissor lift at the Vehicle It is the first time this type of Inspectorate's Kilmarnock testvehicle lift has been used within ing station. the VI's truck testing facilities and it will be assessed against the use of more conventional inspection pits.
The NAV 745 IHD lift has 9.0m long, 750mm wide twin tracks that can be raised to 2.04m and includes mechanical, hydraulic and electronic safety devices.
As well as a 13.5-tonne air/hydraulic jacking beam, the scissor lift incorporates 13.5tonne hydraulic play detectors, which will allow the examiner to single-handedly check the condition of the suspension joints.
Hydraulically operated with power levels for light vehicles or trucks, the lift provides clear views of both the suspension system and the rest of the underside.
Autoparts Ecosse general manager John McArdie believes these features will be of great benefit to the VI, and that this installation should lead to other projects.
