THIS WEEK'S used truck is a 2008-registered Volvo FE320 — a three-axle 26-tonne GVVV truck with a rear-steer axle.
The driveline is a Euro-5, 7.2-litre engine boasting a Reduced Pollution Certificate, and it comes with a full Volvo service history.
With 344,000kms on the clock, the Volvo has a nine-speed manual transmission and a sleeper cab. It comes with an 8.5m long box-body and a Ratcliff column tail-lift.
The current MoT runs out in December 2013, but vendor, Britcom will supply a 12-month MoT and three-month driveline warranty. Britcom has priced the vehicle at £28,500 (plus VAT).
Demand for 26-tonners has been on the rise as operators look to maximise hauling capacities, especially if they are delivering inside London's Low Emission Zone.
The FE was introduced in 2006, replacing the FL7, with the cab borrowed from sister company Renault Trucks. The brand underwent a revamp this year, ahead of Euro-6.
