THE British Electrical and Allied Manufacturers' Association, has urged the Minister of Transport, to supplement the dispensation contained in the Transport Bill for heavy indivisible loads. The provision in Clause 99, Sub-Clause (6), permits the Minister to waive this charge by regulation.

BEAMA urges that this provision should be used to avoid extra costs on loads which by their nature cannot be carried by rail. The association reminds the Minister that heavy electrical plant forms an important element of Britain's exports, and it would be wrong to add to costs at a time when all-out effort is needed to expand exports.
