• Moffett Engineering claims to be a leader in the manufacture of truck-mounted forklifts and is bullish about its prospects following its recent acquisition by Powerscreen International.
Powerscreen, which also owns construction equipment manufacturer Benford and trailer specialist SDC, is thought to have the capital needed to develop Moffett's core business further in the UK and overseas.
The market for truck-mounted forklifts is expanding rapidly, says Moffett, and the company is in the process of streamlining production to shorten lead times.
It adds that recent ergonomic developments on the Mounty model have improved driver comfort and control, while access for maintenance has also been enhanced.
Driver position is said to be one of the safest in the truckmounted forklift sector.
