• A SYSTEM to turn potentially harmful paint sludge into non-toxic, re-usable powder has been launched by Haden Drysys Environmental, a newly formed UK company within the American Haden MacLellan Group. Althugh the scheme is aimed initially at manufacturers, in anticipation of expected tougher environmental legislation in this field, as in West Germany this year, it is expected that a collection service for paint sludge will be set up for paintshops. The collection is likely to be contracted out to a tanker fleet.
The system is the result of three years research by British engineers in the States.
