WITH REFERENCE to the article on digitachs (CM 15 March), I too have noticed zonsiderable differences in time driven and the time the digitach in my R420 seems to record.
I've had mine for over a year now, and each time [run with one pf our analogue vehicles there is a wide variation between my vehicle and the older one — sometimes as much as 50 minutes Lin local work where a lot of stopstart driving is involved.
As you would expect, on a long run on good roads the difference Ls marginal, if anything.
Just as the RHA did, we tried tied vehicles back to back (same iob, same day), and a nine-hour day in an analogue truck became 10 hours in a digitach vehicle.
Surely this is wrong because if you don't get any infringements with an analogue tacho, surely you ihouldn't with a digitach when xorking in the same fashion. Dbviously another effect is wages f, as I am, you're on an hourly rate.
Hopefully Brussels will sort it put soon.
