Daf Trucks dealer Chatfields opens ATF to counter the imminent closure of its local VOSAoperated test lane
Words: Kevin Swallow
DAF TRUCKS DEALER Chatfields has opened its first Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) at its Sheffield, South Yorkshire site, so it can continue to put vehicles in for MoTs when the local VOSA-operated test station closes.
Service manager Dave Wales says a large proportion of its customer base relies on Chatfields for preparation and taking vehicles for test at the VOSA site just down the road.
The imminent closure of the VOSA site meant Chatfields had to sort alternative arrangements. “We offer our customers a genuine one-stop-shop service for their trucks and vans and have recently invested in tail-lift and trailer maintenance diagnostic equipment, as well as the training that goes with these additional services,” he says.
Chatfields Sheffield dealer principal Steve Wright says the Handsworth site was the obvious choice for its first ATF: “We are now the blueprint for the rollout of ATFs across the other seven Chatfields locations.” ■
