I RECENTLY received part funding to gain my C+E licence.
I paid for the medical and provisional, plus my theory, on my own, but I have also received £1,000 towards funding to sit my licence -1 need to find the rest myself, which I have done.
The Scottish Enterprise will pay up to .f1,000 for you to have train ing that will guarantee you a job. In my case, a Class 1 licence is needed to comply with an employer who needs Class 1 drivers. All the employer had to do was give me a letter stating that he will employ me when I pass a Class I test. It's as easy as that.
I am on long-term sick and approached my local job centre, who put me in touch with Working Links and they did the rest.
I'm not sure many people are aware of this benefit, but ni), advice is to contact your local job centre and be persistent; it will not give out the information easily. I had to push it all the way, but I got there in the end.
