I was most interested in the report CCM November 1) concerning a statement by Mr. A. Morris, director of Sirroma Transport re: cleaning of commercial vehicle chassis.
Mr. Morris says: "It has been estimated that a clinically dean job could be produced on the largest, dirtiest vehicle for as little as £1 and in about 25 minutes."
I feel that this statement may be a little misleading. Does Mr. Morris mean that a vehicle which has had regular chassis cleaning would cost the figures quoted for each session of cleaning?
My company specializesin this type of work and we have a depot approximately 5 miles from the Ministry of Transport Testing Station at Ipswich. The vehicles we are receiving at the moment are pre-1958, they are extremely dirty and the average cost for a 5-tonner and over is £7 to £9.
