The new Imperial Commercials dealership has been unveiled with a line-up of Dafs and Fiats on the forecourt. Kevin Swallow reports.
r 1 hen CM visited the new £1.7m Imperial Commercials site at Frome three months ago it still had the painters in (CM 2 August).Now the tailormade satellite dealership on the A361 bypass, which replaces sites in Frome and Westbury, has been officially opened: Daf Trucks MD Stuart Hunt cut the ribbon.
Imperial Commercials' regional director David Lewis oversaw the proceedings from scratch:" We wanted people to see what we have in Frome and get an idea of how we work, so everyone is welcome to just turn up and informally meet the learn and take a loOk around.
"Visitors will also be able to view some of the very latest Daf trucks and take test drives." As well as a line-up of Dafs and Fiats, the site offers a roller brake tester;VDO Siemens digital and analogue tachograph franchise; 24 full-length parking bays; a 2Orn commercial wash bay; an automated MoT test lane for Class 4,5 and 7 vehicles;ancl seven 20m work bays. A week-long ride-and-drive event, which finishes tomorrow (Friday 30 November), features a number of new Dafs including a CF85 8x4 tipper, XF105 Super Space Cab tractor unit with trailer and an LF45 curtainsider. •
