P & 0 FERRIES hay announced a new roll-or roll-off ferry service to th Shetland Islands, to conmence operation on April 1977.
The new service will tak freight between Aberdeen an Lerwick, making two roun trips weekly.
The service will be equippe to handle accompanied lorr traffic as well as unaccompar ied traffic. P & 0 have a fleet c vehicles based in the Shei lands to haul unaccompanie traffic or to distribut groupage-shipped materials.
At the same time P & 0 als announced that they are con sidering introducing a nei, ferry on the increasingly suc cessfUl Dover-Boulogne rur Since its inception in April this year, the service ha captured 81 per cent of th haulage traffic between th two ports.
