ANYONE who says the Talbot Motor Company's Michael Judge is the biggest gasbag in the Midlands is being beastly. True, he out-talked more than 30 others in a competition to find the best after-dinner speaker in the area, but he won the first prize of £1,000 and an engraved silver rose bowl (what else?) on quality, not quantity.
As an industrial relations director he has to be able to molify trade-union leaders, who are not a notably clubbable breed, but in a close contest sponsored by Midlands BRS (now reversed in BRS Midlands) and The Birmingham Post he
managed to squeeze humour out of a job that many people would regard as punishment. That won him the prize and the applause.
