THE GUY ARAB chassis is offered for single-deck and double-deck bodywork. This, like the Victory Trambus and Warrior Trambus designs, has a frontmounted engine. There is also a Guy Victory with underfloor engine within the wheelbase.
The Arab Mk V is made in three wheelbases for single-dock bodywork and two for double-decker use. Single-deckers cater for overall lengths of 26ft, 32ft, and 36ft. and the double-decker chassis for 27ft and 30ft. Gardner 6LW or 6LX engines are used and while semi-automatic transmission is standard with the 6LX it is the option to a fourspeed constant mesh box with the 6LW.
The underfloor-engined Victory is made with left-hand drive only. There are two wheelbases for 34ft 6in and 36ft bodywork. The engine can be a Gardner 6LX or a Leyland 0.680 and the transmission. four-speed epicyclic or six-speed synchromesh.
The two Trambus models are to the same general design but the Warrior has an AEC engine and six
speed constant-mesh gearbox and the Victory a Gardner 61.X engine and epicyclic gearbox. The engines are located ahead of the front axle and wheelbases to suit body lengths of 31ft. 33ft and 34ft 6in are produced for the Warrior and 34ft 6in and 36ft for the Victory.
