• Aston Clinton Haulage, a profitable subsidiary of Norbert Dentressangle, is celebrating its parent company's half-yearly results by buying 10 new Renault Magnum tractors. Helped by the Aylesbury-based company's figures, the French group has boosted first-half turnover by 22% to .£128m; profits are up 65% to £8.15m. ACH managing director David Fowler says the company's market, primarily in general haulage, is buoyant.
Norbert Dentressangle, Europe's leading cross-Channel haulier, recently floated 15% of
its capital on the French stock exchange. According to market analysts it has boosted its profits by reducing costs and trimming its debt level.
