MERCEDES-BENZ dealer Midlands Truck and Van has named Jon Divers as its new dealer principal.
Divers has more than 13 years experience working for Mercedes-Benz in inance and leet sales roles, rising to become the manufacturer’s national leet sales manager for trucks.
“Of course the responsibilities of my new job are much more diverse, but my background certainly helps,” he says. “I’m already on irst-name terms with a lot of our customers. I also have an in-depth understanding of the transport industry and the pressures operators are facing in the current economic climate, as well as a detailed knowledge of our award-winning truck and van products.” Midlands Truck and Van, which employs more than 190 people and is owned by Ballyvesey Holdings, operates from Birmingham, Coventry and Wolverhampton and sells Mercedes truck and van ranges, and Fuso Canter light trucks. “What I really want to focus on, though, is the all-important area of service back-up. We know our vehicles are the best on the market, but we need to ensure that the same is true of our level of care,” says Divers.
“Here at Midlands Truck & Van we never forget that a truck or van represents an operator’s livelihood, so we must do our utmost to keep their vehicles on the road, where they earn their keep. I’m determined that this must be the focus of all that we do.” Ballyvesey Holdings is focused on operational excellence and delivering an outstanding customer experience, he says. “We are already planning to invest in our commercial vehicle dealership premises, as well as in staff training and technology, to ensure that we provide the very highest levels of service. I have inherited a irst-class team of people.”
