Ciceley Commercials will open a second ATF in Bolton, 12 months after opening its first in Blackburn
Words: Kevin Swallow
A YEAR after opening its irst authorised testing facility (ATF) lane in Blackburn (pictured), Lancashire-based Mercedes-Benz dealer Ciceley Commercials is to open a second one, this time in Bolton.
Richie Eburne, group aftersales manager, says the ATF will open on 4 October. “This is a great opportunity. It allows us to improve our level of service, and provides a platform from which to market our dealership to other operators.” Previously, Ciceley technicians had a 60-mile round trip to the nearest facility at Chadderton, Oldham, and the irm had to charge an ‘accompaniment fee’ to cover the three hours its technicians were away from base. “Fortunately our irst time pass rate – 98% – meant that only one trip was necessary. But it was vehicle downtime that operators could have done without.”
The new ATF lane will offer HGV, PSV and ADR MoT testing and certiication, as well as ultimately providing customers with reduced pollution certiicates. ■
