PICTURES on this page show exterior and interior views of a 10-seater luxury tourist coach which has been built for longdistance ;ours in East Africa, and will be operated by one of the subsidiary companies of Overseas Motor Transport Co., 120, Pall Mall, London, S.W.I.
It comprises a Bedford OR 27 h.p. chassis on which is mounted a roomy and attractive body built by Duple Motor Bodies, Ltd., Edgware Road, The Hyde, London, N.W.9. The bodywork is constructed of timbers which will stand tropical conditions and is oanelled
fixed and all side windows are in frameless glass and of the full-drop type, with Perspex louvres for ventilation, in addition to roof ventilators and interior electric fans.
Ten particularly comfortable aircraft-type seats are provided, these being built up of Dural lightweight tubes, with grey leather upholstery and padded headrests with washable linen covers; each seat is provided with a newspaper and parcels pocket. The floor is covered with grey carpet and the roof is lined with washable grey rexine. There is an individual light over each seat.
Baggage is accommodated at the rear of the vehicle, the space being sufficient for the average luggage of 10 passengers. Two spare wheels are carried, one at the rear on a metal carrier and the other in the luggage compartment. Twin petrol tanks give a total capacity of 50 gallons.
