says that he was told he had not been given an increase in his rates a month ago because he "had already had it through the rebate". Another Tarmac owner-driver adds: "We have to make the government understand that this is happening. The rebate has nothing to do with Tarmac." Tarmac declined to comment on the situation.
Last month CM reported that RMC Readymix owner-drivers in Scotland were asked to repay their rebates to RMC which claimed its haulage rates for the year had been based on the higher VED rate (CM 12-18 July).
