• London Buses is drawing up its battle plans in response to Harry Blundred's proposals to run against it in the London Docklands.
Roger Bowker, head of LB's East London Bus and Coach Company, says: "This is our territory. Blundred should not under-estimate the abilities of all East London staff. We shall fight him — make no mistake about that. This is competition in the real world. We are prepared for it and we will meet the challenge."
Blundred plans to put a fleet of 100 minibuses into the area under the name Docklands Transit which will offer a fiveminute frequency hail-and-ride service.
