• The first stretched MCW Metroriders for an independent North-East operator have been delivered to Eden Bus Services of West Auckland. The trio of dual-purpose 31-seaters have joined dual-purpose coaches on the company's routes in County Durham.
The vehicles feature gasket glazing, sliding windows and fitted Lazzerini seats. A reduced seating capacity gives improved access and boarding, and more legroom. A luggage pen and "China Bus" dome are also specified.
Eden Bus Services traffic manager John Godfrey says the modifications make the buses ideal for longer distance work.
