The country's tour biggest crime groups come from around Merseyside and they are well organised.
From Scotland down to the ports at Dover or Felixstowe, these gangs take their own tractor units around the country to steal large loads.
Police say that they may be organised but are still thugs. Conducting robberies with baseball bats and guns, they usually offer victims the chance to hand over their property voluntarily.
A case in Merseyside this month highlights the criminals' violent nature. Thieves smashed their way into a truck with sledgehammers at a cash and carry. They assaulted the drivf, and another man before attempting to steal the load.
