Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I have just read CM about our friends at Vosa (19 December 2013) and would like to tell you that we have had a similar experience.

ยง A PG9 was issued to one of g my drivers at Felixstowe dock 2 without a rear number plate.

Also a spray flap (that had been changed the previous week) was deemed to be 6mm above guideline height.

There is, however, a serious element to this in that it puts us into the red zone on our OCRS. This resulted in a visit from Vosa, which proved to be OK. All we're asking for is that a level of common sense is applied. Any serious infringement should have a PG9 issued, but I would make issues such as no number plate and blown bulbs a fixed penalty for the driver. No matter how vigorous and efficient defect procedures are, if a driver does something as daft as this, it shouldn't affect my OCRS. PS: great mag by the way. Name and address withheld by request
