Ma. A. BINNS, manager of CommerKarrier (Midland), Ltd., has been elected an associate of the Institute of Transport, and not an associate member, as erroneously stated in our issue for last week.
CORPORAL S. F. BROWN, of the 5th Northants Regiment, who was a bus driver with the " Un,ited Counties " concern, one of the Tilling bus group, from 1085 to 1940, has been awarded the Military Medal for gallant and distinguished service in North Africa.
FLIGHT-LIEUT. GEORGE KENNING, third son of Sir George and Lady Kenning, has been awarded the D.F.C. for being " throughout his period of service an inspiration to all pilots in his squadron," and will certainly be the recipient of congratulations from his many friends in the motor trade. Sir George is chairman and managing director of Kennings, Ltd., the well known motor agent of Sheffield and Chesterfield, and Flight-Lieut. Kenning is secretary of the company.
MR, D. I. EVANS, buyer of W. T. Henley's Telegraph Works Co., Ltd., since 1927, retired at the end of last month after 38 years' service with the company, having spent the whole of his time with the buying department. Ins successor is MR. W. A. LISHMAN, whilst MR, F. C. -WALDER becomes assistant buyer.
MR. JACK URBAN has taken up a commission in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, and his active work for the Tyneside Safety Glass Co., Ltd., will, therefore, be interrupted for the duration of the war. We wish him every success in his military sphere. MR. Joint M. S. LISHMAN has been appointed acting sales manager of the company upon Mr. Urban's departure.
