111 Lord Fraser in the Court of Session on June 23 granted a first order for the winding-up of John Gibson and Son Ltd, engineers and coachbuilders, Bankhead Avenue, Sighthill, Edinburgh.
He appointed Mr C. R. Munro provisional liquidator and gave him power to carry on the business as may be necessary for the beneficial winding-up of the company. He fixed caution at £100,000.
Mr J. G. Mackenzie, for the Bank of Scotland. who brought the petition for winding-up, said the company was still trading and the bank was anxious that the company should be brought under the supervision of a provisional liquidator. The present asset position was in considerable obscurity.
Mr Ross C. Davies, the company's managing director, recently said (CM June 18) that a new company, Caleden Engineering Ltd, "will carry on where John Gibson leaves off."
