• Ulsterbus Ltd was granted a pick-up point at Stranraer on Tuesday in Glasgow when objections by Scottish Omnibuses Ltd, Western SMT Co Ltd, and W. Alexander and Sons (Midland) Ltd were withdrawn following agreement by the applicants and objectors. Ulsterbus asked for a new service of excursions and tours starting from Stranraer as detailed.
Mr G. I. Millar, projects manager representing the applicants, said that it was not the intention of Ulsterbus to use the tours licence from Stranraer for any purpose other than picking up passengers on tours commencing in Belfast, Northern Ireland, nor was it the intention of the company to seek additional pick-up points in Scotland other than the steamer terminal in Stranraer, unless with the consent of the objectors.
In view of the statement by Ubterbus the opposition withdrew leaving the application unopposed.
