• Asda is creating 170 driving and warehouse jobs for the South London home delivery service which it plans to launch at the end of the year.
A dedicated fleet of temperature-controlled vans will be used to deliver to up to 450,000 homes which do not currently have access to an Asda store in the region.
1=1 Great Universal Stores is gearing up to introduce a home delivery trial for Argos—just three months after snapping up the catalogue retailer.
GUS will use its White Arrow Express home-delivery operation for the trial, which will be confined to the NorthWest. Customers who do not wish to collect goods themselves will be able to order by phone and pay about £3 for home deliveries.
