product of B.E.N. Patents, Ltd., 92, Tottenham Court Road, London, WI Known as the Instantair valve coupling, it is a fitting for quickly attaching flexible connections to air-line points in compressed-air installations.
As its name implies, it is a combined coupling and check valve. The socket portion is permanently screwed into the air line, and contains a valve which prevents the escape of air, so long as the plug portion is disconnected. The lastnamed is attached to the end of the lead to the air-operated apparatus, and can be inserted in the socket by giving it a single turn, which fully engages the threads on the two parts, actuates a snap locking device, and opens the air valve. The plug part is protected from damage by thick rubber rings.
Complete, the coupling casts 5s. 6d. in the I-in, size and 6s. in the i-in. size; sockets and plugs are, of course, available separately.
Illustrations and descriptions of the numerous B.E.N. compressed-air fittings and items of apparatus are contained in a new add comprehensive catalogue recently issued by the concern.
